Three national health agencies, the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia, beyondblue and the Rural Health Education Foundation have joined forces to raise awareness of depression and anxiety in men with prostate cancer and their partners.

An accredited education program for health professionals will be broadcast on 18 May across the Rural Health Education Foundation’s satellite network of more than 660 sites. The one hour program will also be broadcast via video web streaming and audio podcasting at www.rhef.com.au.

The program aims to assist health professionals to:

•           Identify what depression and anxiety have to do with prostate cancer

•           Provide information about how best to support families and carers of men with prostate cancer
