Angry Anderson
Angry Anderson is a contemporary Australian icon and unquestionably one of the best-known and most recognised individuals of his generation. He became involved in a number of bands, the best known being Rose Tattoo. Through his activities with these bands Angry is seen as a pioneer of heavy rock music in this country.
As with almost everything else, when Angry finally made the move from Rock, he made it a big one. He found himself two new jobs... one in the movies, and one in television as the youth reporter for the Midday Show. Angry then moved on to front the Channel 9 current affairs monthly special, The Challenge. Amidst the numerous awards Angry has received are the Advance Australia Award (1986), the Australian Medal A.M. (1993) and the Special Merit Advance Australia Award (1995).
In 2003 his friend and guitarist Pete Wells was diagnosed with prostate cancer. His death in 2006 prompted Angry to do a series of CSA’s to encourage men to see their doctors. These ads are being shown across Australia (or click http://www.blundstone.com/newsandmedia.cgi to see them now)
"When I realised that Pete was going to lose his battle - I just wanted to do what I could to stop this disease"
