Nursing Program Overview

PCFA is pleased to announce an exciting new initiative to provide both clinical and supportive care to those affected by prostate cancer. The Prostate Cancer Specialist Nursing Pilot program is a 3 year funded program to test a number of Prostate Cancer Specialist Nurses in a variety of Australian health care contexts in partnership with health service providers.

The Nurses will be employed directly by the host health regions and are anticipated to be located in all States and Territories in Australia in both the public and private sector.

The Movember Foundation has generously provided $3.6 million of funding for the first part of the program. Additional funds are still needed and PCFA is now calling on the Australian community and corporate Australia to provide support so the program can grow and secure more nurses across Australia.

PCFA is currently in the process of selecting the area health services which will be employing the prostate cancer specialist nurses.
