PSA Testing & Medicare
As of May 2009, men that wish to get PSA testing through their GPs can claim the cost of the test on Medicare as follow:

Prostate specific antigen - quantitation of 2 or more fractions of PSA and any derived index including (if performed) a test described in item 66656, in the follow-up of a PSA result that lies at or above the age related median but below the age related, method specific 97.5% reference limit - 1 of this item in a 12 month period

Prostate specific antigen - quantitation of 2 or more fractions of PSA and any derived index including (if performed) a test described in item 66656, in the follow up of a PSA result that lies at or above the age related, method specific 97.5% reference limit, but below a value of 10 ug/L - 4 of this item in a 12 month period.
