AFL Legend Supports Launceston Awareness Evening.
AFL legend David Parkin was the key note speaker at a public event in the Grand Chancellor Hotel in Launceston on Wednesday March 10.
The evening was held in conjunction with the Cancer Council of Tasmania and the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia to promote awareness of Prostate Cancer and to build support in the North of Tasmania.
A packed audience heard David talk about the importance of a healthy lifestyle and his own Prostate Cancer experience.
Other speakers were local GP Dr Frank Madill and local Urologist Dr Mike Monsour. Both gave excellent insights into the diagnosis and treatment options of Prostate Cancer.
Chairman of the National Support and Advocacy committee of PCFA and M.C.S David Gregory spoke of the work CCT and PCFA are doing with the help of the “Man Van” to help build awareness of PC throughout Tasmania.
Messrs Parkin, Monsour and Hadill
