When?
September is Prostate Cancer Awareness Month. In Australia, September also means
Father’s Day, football finals, and end of season sports club gatherings – all great reasons to
have a BBQ.
However, if September doesn’t suit, or if you already have another event planned for
another time, you can host a BBQ for Prostate Cancer whenever you like.
Who?
While prostate cancer is a male disease, its effect is far reaching. Wives and partners,
brothers and sisters, sons and daughters, grandchildren and friends – all are impacted by a
diagnosis of prostate cancer. This is why a BBQ for Prostate Cancer is a great reason to get
everyone involved.
Remember, many hands make light work, so make sure you ask for help if needed. Even
better, have a committee who’ll take responsibility for different tasks.
What?
We’re suggesting a BBQ – but if that isn’t suitable, it could be anything that brings people
together. You may like a theme, or to include it as part of a sporting finals event. If you’re
organising the event in memory of a loved one, how about linking it to one of their
interests?
