The Commonwealth Bank has been privileged to partner with PCFA since 2000 to help raise awareness of prostate cancer and to raise funds to support vital research.

Throughout this long-standing partnership, the Commonwealth Bank has supported PCFA through a range of initiatives:

In 2002, the Commonwealth Bank's support helped PCFA establish Australia's first Australia-wide network of prostate tissue banks. These provide an essential resource to all Australian prostate cancer researchers.

From 2006 to 2008, the Commonwealth Bank partnered with the PCFA to deliver a series of men's health forums throughout Australia. These forums encouraged men and their families to be proactive about their health and to educate them about prostate cancer and other important health issues, such as heart disease and depression.

Since 2006, the Commonwealth Bank's "Hitting Cancer for Six" campaign has seen the Bank donate for every six hit during the Commonwealth Bank One Day Cricket Series. This campaign has raised $160,000 for PCFA and Breast Cancer Institute of Australia.

Employees at the Commonwealth Bank also actively participate in the annual Movember campaign for men's health - including prostate cancer.

Since 2009 the Commonwealth Bank has been the national major sponsor of the Big Aussie Barbie campaign. Each year Commonwealth Bank’s staff and branches get involved in the Big Aussie Barbie. Staff volunteer at the PCFA Big Aussie Barbie launch events across Australia. National staff hold their own Big Aussie Barbies and branches hold dedicated Big Aussie Barbie mornings throughout September to raise vital funds for PCFA.
